About the Author
John T Peters
I was born and raised in East London, South Africa, before moving to London in 1979, where I spent most of my career in the import-export business. Life took an unexpected turn in 2004 when a stroke forced me to change my path. Instead of slowing down, I pursued studies in computer programming at the Open University and went on to design and develop hundreds of websites until my retirement in 2014.
Now, I live in Kent, England, and have embraced my passion for storytelling. My Transition Trilogy—Sidetracked, Destroyed Trust, and Africa Beckons—marked the beginning of my writing journey. Since then, I have written No Sympathy for Murder, Theft Comes with a Price, Harmful Inheritance, and Envy & Greed Spells Murder. My eighth novel is currently in the works and will be available soon.

My Journey
From Business to Books
Life has a way of leading us down unexpected paths. My story began in East London, South Africa, where I completed my education before moving to London in 1979 to build a career in the import-export business. For years, I thrived in that industry—until 2004, when a stroke changed everything.
Forced to rethink my future, I turned to learning and pursued computer programming at the Open University. This new chapter led me to design and develop hundreds of websites, a career I enjoyed until my retirement in 2014. But retirement wasn’t an end—it was the start of something new.
Writing had always been a passion, and with time finally on my side, I embraced it fully. My debut novel, Sidetracked, set the stage for what became the Transition Trilogy. From there, I continued to write, releasing gripping titles like No Sympathy for Murder, Theft Comes with a Price, and Harmful Inheritance.
Today, I’m still writing, always crafting the next story. Every book I create is a reflection of my journey, filled with suspense, mystery, and the thrill of storytelling.
The original version of 'The White Mountains' was probably just about worth publishing.
